Cooper Union

I’m always a sucker for a good Sazerac variation. Then if Laphroaig is also involved... I can’t not make the thing!

Pulled this one out of the ol’ Death & Company book [psst! that’s an affiliate link]; which is every home bartender’s bible. When I first started out I read it every night like it was a story book (and in some ways it is). If somehow you don’t have it, go ahead and fix that by ordering it. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.

Cooper Union

ingredients:

2 oz Irish whiskey

1/2 oz St. Germain Elderflower liqueur

1 dash of orange bitters

Laphroaig 10 year scotch

Lemon zest

instructions:

Rinse a glass with Laphroaig (I like using an atomizer). Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, then strain into scotch-rinsed glass. Gently express a lemon peel over the drink then discard. No garnish.
